Coffeehouse stats:
Parlor News Coffeehouse was founded in 1996 as a newsstand with an espresso bar. The space once housed a funeral parlor. Hence the name.

Great selection, no late fees, no annoying video-store punks...

welcome!

Parlor News Coffeehouse is pleased to introduce the latest version of the fantastic, amazing, and generally gosh-wow parlornews.com. Since our first launch in 1996 [note: justine and scott’s page of glee dates to 1994!], we have gone out of our way to make sure parlornews.com was unfinished, insulting, and almost immediately out of date. With enron-like foresight, we are certain that this lofty goal will surely be met again.

Take some time to explore the links above and to the left, and, as always, if you find some factual error or website bug, please email Scott. It won’t help, but maybe you’ll feel better.

Our coffeehouse opened in October of 1996. The menu is different, of course, from other places, but really it’s pretty much the same, too: Coffeehouses are expected to have certain things. A coffeehouse without a cappuccino? That would be odd. The difference is that we always emphasize the coffee and the coffeehouse, not just a quick drive-thru that leaves you $3 poorer.

Stop in, hang out, listen to the music, whatever. Once you stake out a table, it’s yours as long as you want it. You might have to get familiar with the people next to you, but that’s what you’re supposed to be doing. Enjoy.
