Cheyenne Chapter

The Cheyenne Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is the largest chapter in our state and serves Laramie County.  Meetings are held at the Laramie County library on the second Saturday each month, September through May.

Cheyenne is located in the southeast corner of the state in

Laramie County and has a wealth of western history and

is home to the world-famous rodeo, Cheyenne Frontier

Days, “the Daddy of ‘em all.”

Text Box: The Cheyenne Chapter was organized on September 1, 1900, just ten years after the national organization. Our first chapter regent, Emily A. Patton, was one of twenty-four original members.

Over the years, our chapter has marked many historical sites in the area. We support our military and the Cheyenne Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Chapter members work with children and distribute about twenty-four Good Citizenship medals to sixth graders each spring. DAR Good Citizen awards are presented to high school seniors. Members also support our local ROTC at the two high schools in the city.

Twice a year, members attend naturalization ceremonies in Cheyenne and assist with receptions to help welcome new citizens.
 About Our Chapter -

The DAR is a volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education for children.

The DAR Library is one of the world’s premier genealogical research centers.  Among NSDAR records are thousands of names of Revolutionary War patriots that have been proven by members.  To learn if your ancestral patriot has been proven in DAR, click here to connect to the “Patriot Index Lookup Service” link.
