Welcome! to the West Helena Valley Volunteer Fire District Web page.

We proudly protect approximately 20,000 people living in an area of 55 square miles.  We operate out of two stations with future plans of expanding to a third station that would located in the Silver Creek Estates area.  We protect primarily residential areas with mixed farmlands and wild lands.  We are also responsible for twelve miles of Interstate 15.  Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.  Our main mission components are to protect lives & property, suppress fire, provide rescue & motor vehicle extrication, provide non-transporting emergency medical services at an EMT-I level, and provide hazardous materials response.  We take pride in protecting our community!

News & Events:

West Valley's ISO rating Dropping to a Class 6

As of June 1, 2004 West Helena Valley VFD's ISO rating is going from a dwelling 8 to a class 6.  ISO is an insurance organization that rates risks for insurance companies, and one of their functions is to rate fire departments.  ISO's rating scale runs from 1 to 10, with 1 being the best.  For years West Helena Valley VFD's ISO rating has been a dwelling 8, which means all single family residents within 5 miles of a fire station are an 8, but all other structures including commercial properties have been rated an 9.

In October of last year West Helena Valley VFD went through a two day review of our entire department, and as a result of that review West Helena Valley VFD's ISO rating will improve to a class 6, which means all properties including commercial businesses within 5 miles of a fire station will be a 6.

Check with your insurance agent to make sure they have this information, because according to my agent this lower ISO rating should drop your insurance rates substantially.

If you or your insurance agent need more information please call the station at 458-3717
