Gear Options

The following table lists some of the lightest gear that is currently available. For a mountain of information on available ultralight gear, check out B D's Ultralight Backpackers Home Buyers Guide. The Lightweight Backpacker has an excellent review of ultralight down sleeping bags, and backcountrygear.com has a great sleeping bag comparison table. We provide this information to help you identify the available options, but you must do your own research and decide what is right for you. Part of the fun of getting involved in ultralight backpacking is educating yourself on gear options and tailoring your gear to your own personal needs and preferences. Once you purchase your gear it will last a long time, so choose carefully.
