NOTE: Descriptions are provided only as a reference source for techniques you already have learned. You should never attempt to learn these techniques without instruction.

1. Crossing Talon

Cross wrist grab: Swing the right arm out to the right, then circle it down and reach your right hand over the opponent's wrist and step the left foot to 12 in square horse facing 3. Strike the left forearm to the opponent's right elbow then apply pressure down to your thighs and pull up on the right wrist at the same time, then left hand claw to the opponent's eyes, then left elbow strike down to the spine at the base of the neck.

2. Cutting the Pagoda

Haymaker type punch or roundhouse punch: Step the left foot in to 10, and upper block to the punch and then right elbow to the ribs, then turn to 5 and left elbow strike to the ribs, and left back kick.

3. Eagle Pin

Two opponent's front and back, back opponent has you in a bear hug with your arms free and the front opponent is trying to punch you in the face:

Bring your right knee up to protect your groin and knee, your left hand will strike to the opponent's elbow and the right hand to the wrist, and right kick to the groin at the same time. Step the right foot out to 3, into square horse at the same time raise the arms up and strike the elbows down to the opponent's forearms, then hammer fist to the groin and C-step the left foot behind the opponent's right leg and torque to hard bow to face 9, and strike your left elbow to the chin and right hammer fist to the groin as you throw the opponent over your left leg. Then address the first opponent and right leg wheel kick or front snap kick as the case may require.

4. Crane Leap

Cross wrist grab: Opponent's right hand to your right wrist, reach with your left hand to opponent's right wrist, bring your left knee up, pushing off with your right foot and strike your right knee into the opponent's bladder or mid-section, then right foot side kick to the inside of the opponent's left knee, knocking the opponent down to the ground, still holding on to the right wrist follow the opponent down and come around to his back, knee drop to the ribs and punch to the head.

5. Drawbridge

Opponent grabs your collar with right hand: Grab the right hand with your left and trap it to your chest, then with your right web hand strike to the opponent's throat and straighten your arm at full extension, C-step the right foot behind the opponent's right leg and pivot hard to hard bow to face 6, this will throw the opponent over your right leg. Keeping the right hand trapped to your chest right knee drop the ribs and right punch to the head, next stand up with hand still trapped and heel stomp to the ribs, then step the right foot to 3, and kneel down on right knee pulling the right arm over your left thigh breaking the arm.

6. Kung Fu Cross

Left punch: Step the right foot back to 6, and outside block and grab the wrist with your left hand, step the right foot to 12 and set in square horse facing 9, punch the right hand to 9 under the opponent's left elbow pulling down on the wrist. (This is done like popping a baseball off your arm). Then turn the right foot to soft bow and hammer fist to the groin, next grab the left arm with both hands and bring the right knee up, lifting the arm up and right back kick to the opponent's knee.

7. Gift

Handshake or cross wrist grab: Let's say its a cross wrist grab, like for instance, opponent's right hand to your right wrist. Grab the right wrist with your left and step the left foot to 12, in square horse facing 3, and roll your left arm under the opponent's right elbow and apply pressure up on the elbow and pull down on the wrist, then cross the right foot to 12, and torque hard on the elbow to swing the opponent around and either right snap kick to the groin or knee lift to the ribs.

8. Opening Cowl

The opponent either is pushing you from behind or pulling: If you are being pushed you cross step in front and turn back to face your opponent and outside block and reverse punch to the ribs. If you are pulled backward you cross behind and turn back to face your opponent and outward block and reverse punch to the ribs.

9. Arm Hook

Right step through punch: Step to 11 with the left foot and left hand parries the punch away and grab the wrist with your right hand, turn to square horse facing 1, and left palm strike to the right elbow, grab the right wrist with both hands and cross the left foot back to 6, and drop down in long bow and pull the opponent back back to yourself and back fist to his face.

10. Ascending to Heaven

This movement is to demonstrate one's ability to rise to one's defense from a sitting position or after one has been put to the ground: You are sitting with your leg crossed. You stand up out of this position into a fighting stance.

11. Crouching Falcon

The opponent is rushing toward you with a push, shove, grab, or punch: You step forward with the right foot with your hands in prayer position to come up between the opponent's arms, spread the opponent's arms and rake the eyes with your thumbs, slide your left hand down and grab the opponent's right wrist and turn to 9 in horse stance and right elbow strike to the head, then turn back to 12, and right hand claw the face and left hand palm strike to the chest.

12. Opening the Fan

Right step through punch: Step the left foot to 11, in bow stance and left hand parry the right punch away, drive the right elbow into the ribs, then right hammer fist back through the kidneys, at the same time kick the right foot to 12, swing the right hand back to 6, then web hand strike to the throat and right leg kicks the back of the opponent's right leg. Set yourself in strong bow stance.

13. Darkness

Punch from the side: You are facing 12, your opponent is on your right side to punch you with his right fist. Step your right foot to 1, and left hand parry the punch, step the left foot to 12, and right outward block to the punch, then right hand two finger strike to the opponent's right eye, left hand punch to the kidneys, right hand punch to the temple, right side kick to the knee, cheat step into opponent and right elbow strike to the head.

14. Sweeping Arm Hook

Attempted push, grab or shove from a charging opponent: Step the right foot back to 6, and swing your arms down to your left side and up and slap down hard on the opponent's arms, turn to 12, and left hand claw the face, right elbow strike the chest, right front kick to the groin, left wheel kick to the right kidney, right crescent kick to the face, skip side kick to the body and say bye-bye!

15. Spinning from the Sun

Over head club attack: step the left foot to 11, and high cross block to the opponent's wrist, set in square horse facing 1, turn the left hand so that you grab the opponent's right wrist, swing the arm down hard and strike the club across the opponent's shins, continue moving the arm to 11, and step the right foot to 11, raise the right arm over head, (do not let the wrist slip in your hands, you want to crank the arm up tight). Then step the left foot to 12, in back stance, swing your right arm up in the air and palm strike to the elbow, then step the left foot up to the right foot and front kick to the face.

16. Flashing Wings

Right punch: Step the left foot to 11, in square horse and inside forearm block to the punch. Turn to hard bow facing 11, and right elbow strike to the ribs, cross both arms in front of face, and strike the right elbow to the back of the opponent's neck, then right chop to the neck, then turn to left soft bow and left hand chop down to the neck, then turn back to 11, in hard bow and right ridge hand strike to the throat.

17. Snapping Twig

Left hand grab to the lapel: Step the left foot back to 6, in horse stance facing 9, strike the left palm to the wrist and the right palm to the elbow breaking the arm. Next circle the right arm inward and around back knuckle rake across the opponent's face, cheat step forward and right elbow strike to the head, turn down to right soft bow and right hammer fist strike to the groin.

18. Prayer of Death

You are in a kneeling position, with your left knee on the ground, the opponent is trying to kick you in the groin or chest: Downward cross block to the kick, (the right hand is on top). Grab the heel with your right hand and the instep with your left. Stand up twisting the opponent's foot to your right side, then left side kick to the opponent's groin, scoop kick to the groin, heel stomp to the spine, knee drop to the back and punch to the back of the head.

19. Striking Serpent

Right punch: Just like the start of Windmill Guard. Parry the right punch with the left and grab the wrist with the right, wheel kick to the groin, side kick to the knee, then back kick to the back. All done without putting the right foot down.

20. Arching Blades

Right punch: Right front kick to the groin, and as you set the right foot forward, bring the hands to the left side of your head, and right chop to the neck then follow that with a left hand chop to the neck, in soft bow then switch back to square horse facing 9, and right elbow strike under the chin and follow that with a right hand finger strike to the eyes

21. Sticks of Satin

Overhead club attack: Opponent is attacking with a left foot forward. Step the left foot to 11, and cross block up with right on top. Grab the arm and swing down and past your left leg, take a short step to 12 with the right foot, then step the left to 2, bringing the right arm over the right shoulder and the left elbow into the solar plexus. Step the left foot to 7, and turn back to the opponent and grab the wrist with the left hand, step the right foot back to 6, then pull the arm and kick to the groin.

22. Sleeper

Right straight punch: Step to 11 with the left foot and left parry the punch, the right hand comes under the right arm and ridge hand strike to the carotid artery. Next C-step the right foot in behind the opponent's right leg and make sure you are buttock to buttock, reach up and grab your right wrist with your left and squeeze in tight to your chest, then torque hard to face 6, throwing the opponent to the ground. If you let the opponent roll in your arms it will act like a snake squeezing the neck.

23. Darting Serpent

Two handed grab or shove: Step the right foot forward to 12, and your hands up palms together and open then thumb clawing at the eyes and spreading the arms. Circle your arms outward and down and double palm strike to the groin and grab and pull back as you step the right foot back to Cat stance. Then double fist strike to the kidneys, bring the hand to your chest and snake hand strike to the eyes, circle the hands down like double downward blocks clearing the arms out of the way, then double back fist strike the temples, then double chop the neck, reach up with both hands to the head and pull the head down to your raising right knee.

24. Double Blades

Side club attack: As the opponent strikes with his right hand step the right foot in to 12, in square horse. Strike to the arm with both of your hands in spear formation, grab the right wrist with your left hand and pull to 6 as you torque to hard bow, and chop to the throat with the right. Wrap the right arm under the right arm, just above the elbow. Cross the left foot behind the right to 12, and throw the opponent over the shoulder, with the left hand still on the right wrist break the elbow over the left knee, right knee drop to the ribs and phoenix eye strike to the arm pit.

25. Phoenix

Right lapel grab: Grab the hand with your left and trap it to your chest. Step the left foot out to 10, and bring the right foot up to crane stance, swing the right arm down and outward block hard to the elbow to break, right side kick to the opponent's right knee, to break, right back fist to the temple, step in to the opponent and set in square horse and right elbow strike to the head.

26. Striking Asp

Two handed grab to the front: Trap the hands on the chest with your left hand, step to 12 with the right foot and eagle beak strike to the solar plexus, circle the right hand up and right back knuckle rake across the eyes, then right hand chop to the throat. Circle the right arm around the pinned arms and cross the left foot behind the right, and throw the opponent over the shoulder.

27. Circle of China

Round house kick while in a kneeling position: You are on the left knee and the opponent is throwing a right round house to your body. Punch the right fist into the thigh and block with the left forearm to the shin at the same time. Pivot to the left and right hammer fist to the groin, drop the hands to the floor away from opponent and right back kick to body.
