When posting a question about your Galaxie or other Ford (all are welcome), BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to accurately answer questions.

| Welcome
I am the proud owner of both a 64.5 Ford Mustang as well as a 62 Ford Galaxie. Being a Mustang lover I enjoy the benefit of 5 large Mustang forums and many other little ones, that I can post on if I want information, ideas, help or just to share what I am working on, but have had trouble finding Galaxie forum that I could call home. So taking my experience as a co-admin on one of the larger Mustang Forums I have created my own. I hope to build a large family here where people can share, and where all opinions and questions are welcome. I like to tastefully modify my cars and I know others are about concours correct. ALL are welcome here. Enjoy, post questions, and introduce your self I would love to get to know you and more importantly get to know your car User name and password You must now register and log in to post on this forum. registering involves providing you name and email address, picking a user name and password (user name can be what you have been using all along, example, mine would be Daze) and then submitting your registration. Then you verify your registered by clicking a link that is emailed to you. From there you log in using your user name and password, and as long as you choose "forever" in the drop-down menu next to "Remember me for:" under the log in boxes, then you will never have to log in again from that computer and can use the forum with or with out all the extra features. BTW the registration does ask for a birthdate, but this is just to verify you are over 13, so put in any date you like prior to 1995. I used my actual birthday because I don't car if people know how old I am. If you have any problems registering emil dazed@bresnan.net me with your desired user name and password and I will add you manually Here are some of the features we have gained by going to a "login" type forum Post editing
This is the biggest benefit of having to log in. Some times after I make a post I look at it and realize that I left out a word or forgot to add something. By having to log in each post is tied to an individual and you can edit all posts you make. Personal messages This feature would allow individuals to send privet messages to each other through the forum simply by clicking on the silhouette next to the name of the person you want to send the message to. This feature is especially beneficial when dealing with things like buying and selling parts as an example. user search Another nice feature is being able to do a user search. I know some times I am looking for a specific post and I can't quite remember the specifics words of the post so a word search still some times falls short in finding the post, but if I know who made the post with a log in system I can find all the posts made by that individual. optional user profile this is totally optional, each person can add info to their profile about them selves. View all I have had some individuals say they were having a hard time with the format on this forum. One feature that will really help people out is the "view all” button which is at the bottom of all threads with more than 1 post. By clicking that all of the posts related to that thread will open in chronological order in one window just like on other forums. Posting Pictureson this forum with imageshack 1. Go to http://www.imageshack.us 2. Click the “choose file” button 3. A window will open allowing you to find and select a picture already on your computer. Navigate through your folders to find the correct picture, and select it. Once desired picture has been selected click the “choose” button 4. If you have done step 3 correctly the window will close and the file you have selected will be listed next to the “choose file” button on the imageshack web page. 5. If you want to resize the photo check the box next to: “resize image?” and then use the dropdown menu to select the desired size. (I recommend something in the 600 range) 6. Deselect the check box next to the yahoo ad so that you will not get a pop up window. 7. Click on the box marked “host it” 8. Your image will now be hosted at imageshack and a new page will have opened. 9. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and highlight the HTML address in the box marked “Direct link to image” NOTE do not use the ones marked "for forums" So just use "direct" or "Direct link to image" 10. Once the address has been highlighted go to the file menu at the top of your browser and select copy 11. Open a new window in your browser and go to the forum 12. Past the address in to the “Image URL:” box making sure to replace the http:// auto filled in to the box 13. Click the “add” button next to the “Image URL:” box and the image will be added to your post 14. Before hitting the “post” button at the bottom of the screen click the “Preview Pics HERE" button to preview the picture and make sure it is where you want it in the post 15. A couple of extra tips: First if posting more than 1 picture, or text with pictures after hitting the “add” button hit return so the next picture or text will be under the first rather than beside it. Also note where ever you click in the message box, before hitting the add button, is where the picture will be placed. Map If you go to the Map page you can add your self, your location, and a picture. 1. Click “Join” in the upper left hand corner of the map a box will open that says “Hi! Please add yourself!” 2. Click “Hi! Please add yourself!” the box will show two options Guys Girls 3. Click the appropriate gender then hit “continue” 4. Fill in the name box 5. Fill in the email box 6. If you want to add a picture click “Browse” you can then find an image on your computer and upload it, just like uploading photos to image shack 7. Click “add me” |
