NSDAR (National Society Daughters of the American Revolution) was founded in 1890 and incorporated in 1896 by an Act of Congress. There are 170,000 members in 3,000 chapters across the United States and internationally.
The DAR objectives are to preserve American history, promote patriotism and work toward better education for our children.
Any woman age 18 or over is eligible for membership who can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. More information on what constitutes eligibility can be found on the DAR National Society website.

Patriot Index Lookup Service—the DAR Patriot Index contains names of Revolutionary patriots. If you are interested in finding out if your ancestor is a Revolutionary Patriot on the DAR list, a Lookup Request Form can be completed and volunteers will check for you at no charge. Click here
Genealogy Service—outlines information you will need to trace your lineage. This service provides guidance in organizing and documenting the ancestry information you have and how to proceed with the research.
