The DAR was founded in 1890 and is a volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education for children.
Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible for membership. Click on the Membership Eligibility link for more information.
The DAR Library is one of the world’s premier genealogical research centers. Among NSDAR records are thousands of names of Revolutionary War patriots that have been proven by members.
