Picture of caboose #3 before restoration was begun (41557 bytes) Caboose #3 before restoration began.  The sides were being held together with steel straps and the floor was completely rotted away.
Caboose #3 UnderFrame before side frames New under frame.  All joints are mortise and tenon and the structure is held together with tension rods.
Side frames before siding application (49746 bytes) Sub flooring, side and end framing, and some roof arches have been installed.  Almost all joints are mortise and tenon.
Caboose with siding.jpg (22287 bytes) Siding is installed on two ends and one side and the roof structure, except for the cupola opening, is in place.
Caboose with siding and cupola frame (45024 bytes) Cupola has been framed, remaining siding, and some exterior hardware has been added.
All windows, both doors, final roofing, and the roof walks are installed. One coat of paint has been applied and more exterior hardware is in place.
Steps, platform railings, cupola grab irons, and one ladder has been added. Couplers and brake rigging are now being installed.
Present condition. Both couplers have been installed and both trucks have been assembled and are ready for installation. Presently installing brake wheels.

Uintah boxcar (number unknown) on farm North of Fruta, CO. Car has Murphy roof and is on concrete so is in relatively good condition.
